I searched for a sustainable, made in the USA soap dish that also embodies a warmth and naturalness that would be a good compliment to my handmade soap. This dish is everything I was looking for and made in the USA. It is a good size (3” W x 5” L x 3/4” D.) and fits handmade bars well. It is unsealed wood, so will wear with time. (Or you can choose to seal it yourself).
Due to the tannins naturally found in wood, it can stain sensitive surfaces and for this reason it is not recommended on marble or light colored natural stone.
We have been using ours awhile and Iike the warmth of the rustic look that develops with use. Giving it a rinse under the faucet helps it last longer. Each soap dish is designed to quickly drain water off soaps, keeping them dry and lasting longer. They are a one piece design with no nails, glue or anything that can come apart during use.
From the product description, “Did you know that a well drained bar of natural soap makes it last longer? Our cypress dishes were made to help our soaps drain well in between uses. Cypress is used for outdoor decks because of its durable, water and decay resistant nature. Our soap dishes are therefore an excellent choice for draining your soap, and extending its life span.
Pair it with a bar of my handmade soap and exfoliating soap saver bag for a lovely gift.
Actual soap dish measurements are 3” W x 5” L x 3/4” D. Made in Mississippi!

All-natural, ethically sourced ingredients ingredients using plant based oils. No additives or synthetics.
Always PALM FREE
Always keep your soap in a place free of pooling water and on a well-draining soap dish to get the longest life from your soap. If it is allowed to sit in water, it will begin to soften and melt away before your full enjoyment.

Everything in my shop is made by hand by me, in Tucson AZ. I make everything in small batches so no two will ever be the same. Please understand that this will case unique variations in each soap batch to batch-but that is part of the fun of handmade goods!
I use Cold Process soap making methods and each batch is left to cure a minimum of 4-6 weeks before sale, so that the soap has had enough time to become a harder, longer lasting bar. I pick each set of ingredients specifically for each batch of soap, nothing is pre-made, and no preservatives or detergents are used. I hand mix and blend all the ingredients myself. If you have special requests, please ask~

bigger than I expected. I can fit almost two soap bars on it. The only negative is the wood isn't sealed. I am unsure how it will wear with time.
